Cricket ACT has named the ACT School Sport Australia 15 & Under Boys squad that will look to make their mark in the National Carnival, being held in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast from the 26th March – 2nd April.
The Carnival will showcase Australia’s best emerging talent in a series of 50-over matches, before entering the finals.
Led by co-captains, Esam Raham and Angus Jones, the boys have been put through their paces over the last three months, completing many hours of training and conditioning to prepare them for the tournament.
Joining the team will be Coaches Kyle Piper and Michael O’Rouke, as well as Team Manager, Darryle Macdonald. Speaking ahead of their departure, Coach Kyle Piper, recognised the hard work put in by everyone in order to prepare the team for what they hope will be a finals finish.
“Working with these boys quite extensively over the last three months has really put this team in top condition to compete in this Carnival.”
“It’s of tremendous credit to the work of the Emerging Comets Coaches, because without their time and knowledge of the game, I wouldn’t be feeling as confident as I do right now. In particular, I would like to thank Brad Falkenberg, Matt Phelps, Michael Frost, Ben Ryan and Michael O’Rourke, who have gone above and beyond to ensure this team have all the necessary knowledge and skills to bring home a great result.
