The Cricket ACT Board work collectively in the national interest of cricket in the Australian Capital

Cricket ACT is governed by a Board of Directors and administered by a team of staff led by the Chief Executive Officer.

As an Associate Member of Cricket Australia, we share in the custodianship of Australian Cricket and its vision to remain Australia’s favourite sport.

  • Greg Boorer

    Chair

    Greg founded CDC Data Centres in 2007 and has held the role of CEO ever since. Over that time CDC has grown to become a multi-billion Australian success story. Greg is a generous philanthropist supporting many Canberra charities and sporting organisations including being the major sponsor of CACT.

  • Narelle Smith

    Director

    Narelle is a member of the Senior Executive Service of the Australian Government and has over ten years experience as a lawyer. As head of the Office for Sport (Australian Government) she was involved in the successful delivery of the 2015 Asian Football Cup, 2015 Cricket World Cup and the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Narelle is passionate about increasing junior cricket participation. Her weekends are spent on the side of the cricket field as she has a son and daughter who are both involved in junior and Premier cricket competitions in Canberra as well as the ACT Cricket High Performance Pathways.

  • Greg Badcock

    Director

    Greg has nearly 40 years' experience as a cricket player and administrator and has been a member of the ANU Cricket Club and its committee for the last 10 of those. Prior to his election to the board, Greg had sat on the Premier Cricket Committee for over 5 years. Greg is also a lawyer working in private practice in Canberra, for a range of Commonwealth and corporate clients.

  • Sean Michelle

    Director

    A partner of Bellchambers Barrett Chartered Accountants, Sean has been a member of the board since 2012. He is the former Deputy Chair of Radford College and played cricket locally with Western District Cricket Club.

  • Cindie Deeker

    Director

    Cindie is a Principal at Duffy Primary and volunteers with several community groups. She is an active committee member of the Ginninderra Cricket Club. Cindie understands player performance and coaching/mentoring through experience at a rep level and coaching at a divisional level. She was involved with School Sport Aus through national events and ACT School Sport as part of the management team.

  • Michael Thomson

    Director

    Michael Thomson is a senior executive with a proven track record of delivering results for both elite and grassroots sport. His passion for sport comes from decades of professional and personal experience across a number of sporting codes. Michael has played competitively in rugby union, cricket, indoor cricket, indoor soccer, squash, basketball, pennant tennis, representative golf and touch football.

  • Kate Pope

    Director

    Kate is an experienced senior public servant and keen follower of cricket in all forms who believes in the positive impact that participating in sport can have at the individual, community and national level. Kate brings skills in governance, culture change, innovation and community engagement to the Board of Cricket ACT and a strong interest in promoting participation, equity and accessibility.

  • Paul Singer

    Director

    Paul is experienced senior public sector leader, including serving as Official Secretary to the Governor-General. He is also the co-founder of the charity Make A Mark Australia, which empowers children in need through improved access to education. Paul’s love of cricket has been enriched as a player, coach and administrator in support of junior and grade competitions. He is passionate about the power of cricket to unite communities and the game’s impact beyond the boundary, as evidenced by his Director role with The LBW Trust – a national charity leveraging cricket to support education in cricket-playing nations and regional Australia.
