Cricket ACT and Erindale College are turning back the clock and re-connecting to offer Canberra’s public school college students a dedicated cricket program as part of Erindale’s Talented Sports program.
For some years now, cricket has been offered to students as an individual sport with timetable space offered to engage with specialist coaches.
With the arrival of Australian Indoor Cricket representative and World Cup winner Luke Ryan at the school, coupled with growing cricket enrolments, the Erindale College has made the decision to re-instate the program.
Former student and current ACT Comet, Tyler Van Luin, applauded the news highlighting the importance of “providing an elite cricket pathway for kids in the public school system”.
Cricket ACT’s, Head of Cricket, Stuart Karppinen said “Cricket ACT is pleased to be able to partner with the school in providing cricket specific facilities and expertise to support the program”.
Erindale College Deputy Principal, Mark Armstrong advised that there was still time to enrol for 2024 and the school could be contacted by telephone on (02) 6205 5429.
