ACT Comets Head Coach Jono Dean has announced his 12-player opening round squad to play Tasmania in a four-day fixture starting on Monday October 21.
Led by newly announced captain Scott Murn, the side will travel to Hobart to start their 2024/25 Toyota Futures League campaign.
Young ANU fast-bowler Hayden Watling has also been named in the extended squad and in with a chance to make his ACT Comets debut.
“We are ready to go. We can’t wait to get to Hobart, we’ve been training hard the whole pre-season and we’ve been preparing well, we’re fit and looking forward to getting out on the park on Monday,” Dean said.
“Hayden (Watling) comes into the squad, and I’m really excited for him. He is a good young man, he played really well for us during the Darwin series, and I really enjoy his attitude and his effort around training, as well as his energy around the group.”
