Cricket fans in Canberra have plenty to cheer about, with the city set to host cricket powerhouse India for two matches this summer at Manuka Oval.
As part of an action-packed international schedule, Canberra will welcome both the Indian Men’s and Women’s teams to take on their Australian counterparts, showcasing the very best of the sport on home soil.
Manuka Oval will host two marquee matches this season:
October 29, 2025: Men’s T20I v India
February 19, 2026: Women’s T20I v India
Building on the success of last summer, where Canberra hosted a Women's Ashes ODI that attracted record crowds and showcased the city’s love for cricket, the upcoming season is set to be even bigger with two international matches and the return of the Australian men’s team to the nation’s capital.
Cricket ACT CEO Olivia Thornton said the organisation was thrilled to be part of the action-packed schedule this summer.
“Cricket has the power to bring people together and create unforgettable moments, and we look forward to witnessing these two cricket giants go head-to-head. Cricket also has an important role to play in strengthening bilateral relations between our two countries and Cricket ACT is proud to continue to play its part in enhancing the connection between India and the Nation’s Capital,"
"Hosting these marquee fixtures is a testament to the strong cricket community in the ACT and the incredible support for the game in our region. We can’t wait to welcome players, fans, and visitors to Manuka Oval for what will be an unforgettable summer of cricket.”
ACT Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Sport Yvette Berry echoed Olivia's sentiment.
“Canberra and Manuka Oval has proven its ability to host international cricket fixtures - last summer saw strong attendance including the most ever attendees to a women’s international fixture played at Manuka Oval. It is always positive to welcome back the Australian cricket teams, both women and men, and I know these matches will be popular and well attended by fans this year,"
“The Indian following for cricket is significant and Canberra’s ties with India are strong. We enjoy their passion for the sport and are looking forward to hosting them at Manuka Oval.”
International ticket pre-sales begin on June 3, 2025, for fans who have registered, with general public tickets available from June 13, 2025.
Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early to witness the cricketing stars in action at Manuka Oval.
Details for the Prime Minister's XI will be announced in the coming months.
